This election and all that surrounds it is surely an interesting thing to watch – and I don’t mean the new president elect, or the first place loser. Which one should have won? No clue. Which one deserved to win? Not sure either BUTT one had to win, and it looks like most of the country chose someone who is promising hope, change and to make America GREAT again. I mean, who doesn’t want that? It just proves that the hope of a Great America is worth betting on and believing in more than what the other side was promising. Sales is sales people.
But that’s not why I pulled over to the side of the road to write about – I’m writing about you. After all, you’re what really matters (i.e. “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you.” – God) It doesn’t get more intimate and caring than that. In the Bible, Israel wanted no INSISTED on a king. Annnddd well, they got one. Lets just say, it didn’t always go so well. How different are we? Just because one funny looking white dude won the elections, the word as we know it (or OUR world) is lost? I’m in great disbelief that a God that knew you before you existed is now out of touch with your future, and even more in disbelief that He’s out of touch with all of our futures.
Do you Trust God, or not. There’s no in between. Its not a feeling – that feeling you search would be peace, or security. I said do you TRUST? Its a choice, and you’d better make it. The peace comes AFTER. If it comes before than you don’t really trust, do you? If you can’t make your rent payment because you’re going to be short on cash, is it trust if you begin to let go and have peace only after you hear about getting some overtime hours or another gig before rent’s due? No, that don’t count! Trust is believing in being taken care of when it seems IMPOSSIBLE!
So, Hillary peeps, I love ya. I LOVE how passionate you are and you’ve certainly shown how capable and dedicated you can be. Now flip a switch, take a deep breath, and TRUST GOD for that’s who we should’ve been trusting all along anyways. I trust NO MAN to be in charge of my family, my crew or my country. But I do trust God, every time. (unless of course I’m jacked in the head and forget how amazing He always comes through, and remember how long He’s been doing this whole life thing compared to my 39 years) Take all of that hurt, and anger (which is really just disappointment garnered from high hopes that your candidate would lead this country) and lead with love, help someone around you IMMEDIATELY for no reason, and feel that warm you up! I totally understand your disappointment.
PS –
Phillippians 4:6-7 “ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” This doesn’t mean your prayers will always be answered, but you can have faith and trust that God is either answering them, or giving you the gift of unanswered prayers (at least according to Garth Brooks)
